Nuclear deterrent force is illusion.

Even now some people believe in nuclear deterrent force. However , it is an utter illusion. If one country thinks having nuclear weapons makes it safe, another country thinks the same.
We know the facts about the proliferation of nuclear weapons. If one country has them, other countries will have them because they are afraid of nuclear attacks. More than nine countries have them now, and there are 20,000 nukes in the world. The number of nuclear countries will only increase.
 If a country has nuclear weapons, other countries will not attack it because they would be afraid of counter attacks. This thought is too optimistic. There is always the risk of launching nuclear missiles by accident. The mad decision by a desperate leader or a reckless terrorist could make nuclear attacks happen.
 Once a nuclear weapon explodes, over one million people will be killed and the global environment will be completely destroyed.  We can’t sleep peacefully with nukes. We must abolish them now.
